The Codman Hakim Programmable valve by Integra Lifesciences is a ball-spring ball-in-cone design valve for the treatment of hydrocephalus. The Codman Hakim ventriculoperitoneal shunt valve features an 18 step pressure options from 30 to 200 mm H2O in 10 mm H2O increments. The valve is adjusted by a magnetic programmer and requires post-adjustment Xray to confirm position. The Codman Hakim valve is not MRI compatible and should be checked after exposure to MRI.
