DESCRIPTION

The Discoserv Cervical artificial disc was an artifical disc produced by the French company Scient'X which was then acquired by Alphatec (now ATec)in 2010 that featured titanium endplates with plasma sprayed titanium coating for increased surface roughness. The articulations are formed by a ceramic and metallic cup being formed by the superior convex potion made from alumina and the inferior concave portion from zirconia.
