This peptide binds to and activate osteogenic cells which then activate and encourage the conversion of progenitor cells to osteoblasts which are stimulated to produce osteogenic growth factors. This signaling cascade produces the process of proliferation and new matrix deposition directly onto the anorganic bone material (calcium-phosphate scaffolding).
