PearlMatric by Cerepedics is a novel P-15 Peptide with improved handling characteristics for use in spine fusion procedures. The underlying active component remains P-15 with Anorganic Bone material (Calcium Phophate particles, and bovine-derived Type I dermal collagen carrier (20% by weight). This come as freeze dried and rehydrates quickly to a moldable putty and is specifically designed for use in lumbar spine fusions. This is a 15-amino acid synthetic peptide that mimics Type I collagen and bound to calcium phophate. This peptide binds to and activate osteogenic cells which then activate and encourage the conversion of progenitor cells to osteoblasts which are stimulated to produce osteogenic growth factors. This signaling cascade produces the process of proliferation and new matrix deposition directly onto the anorganic bone material (calcium-phosphate scaffolding).
