DESCRIPTION

The Prestige-ST artificial cervical disc by Medtronic was the first version of the disc after acquisition by Sofamor Danek. This was a Stainless steel construction with a ball in trough articulation for coupled motion and was secured in place with two screws at the levels above and below. The disc was eventually replaced by the Prestige LP a Cobalt Chrome version of the disc with no screw fixation.
