DESCRIPTION

The FlexiCore Lumbar Artificial disc by Stryker was an investigational disc replacement that was never ultimately approved by FDA due to concern for metallosis due to metal-on-metal design. The FlexiCore was a 2-piece metal-on-metal artificial lumbar disc composed of cobalt-chrome endplates and a central bearing. The endplates are unique with domed endplates for bony apposition. It features a spike and tooth fixation.
