DESCRIPTION

The NEXTAR system by Medacta International is an augmented reality surgical navigation system for use in Spine and orthopedic surgery. It utilizes a target sensor that is mounted to a reference frame on the patient and a camera unit on the instruments using Infrared (IR) tracking. These relay information to the NEXTAR unit. The screen can be seen on the navigation screen or beamed to the smart glasses which are augmented reality.
