DESCRIPTION

The GAV Gravity Assisted Valve by Miethke (Aesculap) is a position dependent 2-in-1 valve with a spring-loaded ball-in-cone fixed pressure differential valve combined with a gravitational unit that drains at different pressures depending on the vertical to horizontal position. The Gravitational unit is comprised of a weighted tantalum ball that presses down on a sapphire ball to increased the pressure required to open the valve. In the upright position, the closure of the gravitational valve prevents the siphoning effect.

Features:

  • Fixed pressure with MRI compatibility as there are no magnetic parts
  • Small in-line valve with minimal footprint
  • Position dependant anti-siphoning valve built in
  • Pressure settings (different depending on horizonatal vs vertical position)
    • 5/30 cmH2O
    • 5/35 cmH2O
