The FLAREHAWK & TiHAWK is a Bi-directional expandable spacer for use in the PLIF and TLIF procedure as well as the endoscopic or extraforaminal Kambin's triangle approach. The technology uses a PEEK outer shell that is pushed outwards in both height and width with expansion of the inner titanium drive mechanism. This allows for a minimal footprint insertion size with up to a 55% increase in footprint size after expansion. Useful in endoscopic procedures where minimal footprint required for cage placement or in standard TLIF and PLIF approaches. The cages come in both PEEK outer shell and a titanium bonded coating to the PEEK shell. The FlareHawk7 (represents the width of the non-expanded implant, where 7 is 7mm width, 9 is 9mm width, and 11 is 11mm width). The FlareHawk9 and FlareHawk11 share the same inserter and instruments where the FlareHawk7 uses separate instruments and is more suited for the endoscopic approach.
The FlareHawk line of products was acquired by HighRidge Medical in 2025 along with TORO-L lateral expandable and LineSider posterior fixation.
